# Job Description **Work Environment** Non-smoking workplace Urban setting Multiple work locations Work at employer's or client's home **Responsibilities** Tasks - Provide bedside care and personal care - Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene - Assist with regular physical exercises, for example: walking - Feed clients or assist them with eating - Do laundry - Perform minor housework and cleaning tasks - Provide companionship - Meet personal needs - Do shopping - Prepare and serve nutritious meals **Qualifications** Credentials (certificates, permits, affiliations, courses, etc.) - CPR Certificate - First Aid Certificate **Experience and Specialization** Target clientele - People with Alzheimer's disease - Elderly persons - People with physical disabilities **Additional Information** Safety and security - Criminal record check required - References required **Working Conditions and Physical Abilities** - Bending, squatting, kneeling - Sitting, standing and walking - Physically demanding - Repetitive tasks - Weight handled up to 23 kg (50 lb) **Personal Qualities** - Punctuality - Client-focused attitude - Sense of responsibility - Effective interpersonal relations - Excellent oral communication - Flexibility - Initiative - Judgment - Organizational skills - Reliability - Teamwork - Patience - Honesty
